DeDe is a registered 500-hr yoga teacher and completed her Embodyoga® teacher training at Yoga Center Amherst in 2010. She also completed her Mindful Yoga Therapy for Veterans Coping with Trauma 2012, and  her Relax and Renew® Trainer certification with Judith Hanson Lasater at Kripalu in 2018.

Dede is also a masters level school counselor in public schools, certified as a school social worker and guidance counselor. She works with school age students and their families who have experienced self-regulation issues, substance abuse, and trauma. The use of pranayama, asana, and mindfulness has been an empowering adjunct to their well-being.

Practicing yoga for more than twenty-five years, DeDe has been inspired by teachers from many lineages and traditions. Her strongest inspiration comes from both Patty Townsend and Embodyoga®, which has given her a glimpse of a deeper practice that includes moving from the inside out, and Judith Hanson Lasater who has taught her to rest, slow down, and enjoy the breath.

DeDe brings enthusiasm and her own love of yoga to help all students explore movement in a safe and supported environment. Her teaching encourages students to find their own individual expression in asana, using breath as a guide. Her classes focus on developing inner sensitivity and creating harmony and balance in body and mind. She believes that when we allow ourselves to rest and move with awareness we open ourselves to grace and gratitude.
